The Park Ranger

I don’t camp.

I know in my heart that my Indian immigrant parents did not move to this country to spend their time getting bitten by mosquitoes and shitting in the woods.

So instead, I’m following in the steps of the desi women before me- and making shopping my favorite pastime. It’s a much more indoor activity. Unless you’re in Delhi with my aunts, then it’s a tough mudder at the open-air market (haggling).

My contribution to the folks who do  love the great outdoors is compiling a list of all the cute and interesting outdoorsy things I could find. So keep that in mind as you peruse this shopping guide. I’m not vouching for the effectiveness of these items; I’m vouching for the cuteness.

And boy, are these items cute!

I came up with this blogpost idea because I was fed an Instagram ad for one cute Yeti thermos in this ultraviolet purple color. And then I fell down the rabbit hole. Before I knew it, I was on REI’s website learning about the different types of camping chairs. (Who knew camping chairs were a thing! Let alone there were multiple types).

I split this list into a few categories:

  • Home Goods Inspired by the Outdoors- for when you want the outdoors, indoors.

  • Camping Accessories- Things I assume you’d need while camping (think: a compass)

  • Apparel- Cute Outfits + Accessories

  • Experiences for the Adventurer - (Bird Watching Groups + REI Memberships)

So if you love somebody fit to be a Park Ranger, or you are the Outdoorsy one, keep reading!
